In 2014, Coach Mike Dalton started training friends out of a rented warehouse in Surry Hills. No mirrors, no machines — just a power rack, a platform, and a whiteboard with the day's program.
Word spread. Within a year, the warehouse couldn't fit the demand. By 2016, Iron Temple moved into its current 800sqm space on Commonwealth Street — still raw, still no-nonsense, but now with room for the community that had formed around it.
Today, we're home to over 500 active members, 12 expert coaches, and a culture built on the principle that strength training should be accessible to everyone willing to put in the work.
We've never run a TV ad. We've never offered a free smoothie bar. What we have is results — and the referrals that come with them.

Head Coach & Founder
Former competitive powerlifter with 15+ years of coaching experience. IPF-certified. Built Iron Temple from a Surry Hills garage into Sydney's go-to strength gym.
Sarah Thompson
CrossFit & Conditioning Lead
Cert IV in Fitness, specialising in CrossFit methodology and metabolic conditioning. Known for sessions that push you further than you thought possible.
Alex Kim
S&C Coach
Sports science graduate from UNSW. Trains athletes across rugby, AFL, and MMA. Brings a science-first approach to every program he designs.
Dan Reeves
Boxing Coach
Former amateur boxing champion with 10+ years coaching experience. Dan's classes combine proper technique fundamentals with high-intensity cardio conditioning.

Olympic Platforms
Dedicated lifting platforms with Eleiko competition bars and calibrated plates. Built for serious lifts.
Boxing Ring
Full-size boxing ring plus 12 heavy bags and speed bags. Train like you mean it.
Conditioning Machines
Concept2 rowers, Assault bikes, ski ergs, and a prowler sled track for conditioning work.
Recovery Room
Foam rolling area, massage guns, and stretching space. Recovery is part of the program.

Commonwealth Street
Outgrew the garage. Moved into the current 800sqm warehouse space. Added the boxing ring and conditioning zone.
300 Members
Hit 300 active members. Launched CrossFit programming and brought on Sarah and Alex to grow the coaching team.
Recovery Room & Renovation
Added the recovery room, upgraded to Eleiko equipment, and installed 6 Olympic lifting platforms.
500+ Members Strong
12 coaches, 50+ classes per week, and a reputation built entirely on results and word of mouth.
